of law. We apply for your license the old fashion way. We file it correctly.

The Liquor Authority has the right to make their own rules. It seems they change the rules, required forms and documents almost on a daily basis depending on which examiner you are dealing with. 
Liquor Authority employees constantly seem to dream up new requirements. Many of these
you will not find in writing anywhere.
It is not uncommon for a Liquor Authority employee to give you incorrect information that will later cause your application to be denied.

If your application is rejected the SLA will confiscate your filing fee

Has your license application been rejected for some crazy reason that you can not find in the ABC Law? Don't be surprised,It happens all the time! In our opinion if you are not a professional in contact with the three SLA offices on a daily basis your application will be probably be rejected or delayed. Deficient applications can easily be delayed for many months.

If you still wish to attempt to file the application yourself we offer a service to review the application and make appropriate corrections.


A temporary license can be a landmine that can blow up in your face. The temporary permit may be summarily canceled or suspended at any time. The SLA will keep the $650 fee too. 

The license application process is very time consuming and frustrating.
If one question is not answered to the ABC license examiners satisfaction the application can be returned to the applicant. The Authority can keep your fees and then make you start all over with more fees. Unwelcome surprises that cost the applicant significant time and money to resolve are very common. If an applicant attempts to obtain a license without  EXPERIENCED professional assistance the process could take many months before a license is issued, if a license is issued at all. For one low flat fee our consultants will do all the work for you, your attorney or your accountant.

The Liquor Authority has created a huge backlog of license applications. The Liquor Authority is now returning new applications and keeping fees if the application is not correct. The Liquor Authority is more than happy to keep your fees and make you start the process all over if they find an i not dotted or a t not crossed. Questions that appear to be simply answered can be traps that result in the rejection of your application.

  • Do your consultants work for attorneys?
On many occasions a client will go to an attorney for assistance with starting or purchasing an alcohol related business. Attorneys frequently call on our consultants to assist with the ABC license application. We are not attorneys. We always recommend that a client consult with an attorney for purchase offers, leases, incorporation, partnership agreements etc.

  • Is it possible to expedite an application?
The Members of the Authority have approved the implementation of a Self Certification Program. This program allows attorneys filing retail applications on behalf of applicants to certify that statements and documents provided in an application are true and accurate and that the application meets all statutory requirements. The program will allow for a more timely review of applications as the agency will rely on the information certified by the Attorney, eliminating the need to review each document submitted        We have attorneys that will review the application we have prepared for you. The attorney will then make a visit to the premises to verify the accuracy of the application. The attorney will then certify and submit the application.  

  • If I filed an application myself and it has yet to be issued will you expedite it for me?
The license applications that we submit are correct at the time the application is submitted.

We can not expedite an application that you have submitted in error to the NYS Liquor Authority.

 If an application is submitted to the Authority with errors it will be returned and the Authority may keep your fees
. You may then be required to start the process from the beginning including paying the same fees all over again!
